Interlude

This is the oldest doll in my collection. My grandmother gave her to me when I was a child and I believe she had belonged to my great-grandmother. My grandmother made a dress for her and a little petticoat and somewhere along the way, I lost the dress. She has been sitting in a display cabinet in her petticoat for years and years. When I began collecting dolls in earnest, I kept an eye out for an appropriate dress for her, particularly from a shop in London on Etsy that sells vintage and handmade clothing, MiniAGDollHouseRooms. Today, the perfect dress for her arrived from the shop. When I put in on her, I literally felt tears of joy gathering in my eyes. It was as if my grandmother was sitting next to me. I can’t begin to express how happy I am.IMG_7633.jpg
