The West Enders in July, Part 4

The final visitor to the hospice who hasn’t been able to explore the garden is Ilana. Once again, Maxi-Me is a bit constrained in how far she can get as her portable oxygen isn’t filled up. It’s really hot today so we waited until evening to go outside.

Ilana models the outfit she came in. Then she and Mini-Me decide to swap.

The girls have a whole new look.
Ilana is Nicole’s niece and Ben’s sister.

“You look amazing in that dress, Mini. I think it’s you. I understand there’s a lot of clothes left in the village by previous residents, including cocktail dresses. Maybe you should keep that and I’ll pick something else.”
“Ilana, you are too kind! When we get back, we’ll get you a whole wardrobe sorted.”
Ilana likes this tie-dye dress but is dreaming of a whole new wardrobe. Besides, Mini-Me hasn’t suggested she keep it either!
In any event, a new friendship has formed.

The West Enders in July, Part 3

Yesterday was a busy day in the hospice so Lenora MacDonald had to wait until evening to have her photo shoot in the garden. As a reminder, since we haven’t seen Lenora in a while, she’s sister to Merida and daughter to Mairi. This new Looks version with her curly hair is perfect in that role!

Merida MacDonald, created by Mari of Salem City Dolls, who also created Elena Panenka.
Mairi MacDonald, created by Con “Fox” of TheFoxyDolls on Etsy.

Lenora liked to pose, as fashion models do, especially in places that emphasised her eye shadow.

Lenora is a fabulous model.
I’m not sure she’s going to continue her modelling career; she might play fiddle to Merida’s guitar. Sister act!
Merida’s lost half of her duo when Cho went back to Japan.
Lenora will certainly let us know what she wants to do!

The West Enders in July, Part 2

Today was warm and sunny and Carmelita reminded me that it was her turn to explore the garden. Unfortunately the liquid oxygen I need to go out in the chair was uncooperative so I could only get out as far as my indoor tubing would reach. She’s such a pretty, winsome doll!

Enjoying the flowers.
Carmelita loves zumba and she looks great in a cropped top.

Another new doll arrived, yet another Panenka! Her name is Elena and she wanted to go outside too. Carmelita felt it was a little unfair but agreed in the end.

Elena is a OOAK doll from Salem City Dolls, the fifth in my collection.
She’s very lovely.

The West Enders in July

Good morning! Mini-Me here. Maxi-Me is undergoing palliative symptom control at Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice so some of us have accompanied her to keep her company.

We’ve been exploring the garden. Our room opens onto a beautiful garden with loads of birds and Maxi-Me likes to go out in her power chair to explore.

The garden is lovely and we have been taking turns exploring.

Lauralyn and Carmelita are here too.

Lauralyn has had a chance to enjoy the garden too but we can only go out one at a time because it’s so windy.

It was supposed to be Carmelita’s turn yesterday but Maxi-Me couldn’t find any clean clothes, only pyjamas. Then Mr Maxi- Me turned up with three boxes – three new dolls! They definitely weren’t dressed for a garden unless it’s a garden party! This is Anna May Majak.

This is Lenora MacDonald. We’ve met Lenora before but she has a new look.

Finally, this is Ilana Bernstein, Nicole’s niece. She is an aspiring opera singer as well.

The weather is supposed to warm up later this week and be less windy so hopefully the rest of the ladies will get out in the garden soon!

I shall leave you on my bed of roses! More soon.

The West Enders in Late June

The West Enders enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations and afterward got busy trying on clothes and then heading out to GLASTDOLLBURY22 on Instagram. If you aren’t familiar with this event, check it out! It’s a music festival for dolls celebrated in photos and videos in a tribute to the Glastonbury Festival, which was in person for the first time since the pandemic. First, however, we’ll see what fashions have inspired the villagers.

Kimiko arrived in West End Village without her suitcase with her original outfit. She loved her mod orange dress and was very pleased to find one that looked even better on Etsy at CambriaDollAtelier.

Takashi, Akira, and Cormac have chosen more eclectic looks from Louisham Os’ online shop, SouoL by LouoS.

Cormac also likes to hang out with his friend Kiyoshi while showing their loyalty to their favourite American baseball team, the Chicago Cubs. It’s a bit more casual look!

Naomi Majak has arrived to join her sisters Lela and Ebony. She’s just in time for GLASTDOLLBURY22 and Ebony has arranged a blind date for her with Tobias Alford. Ebony is being accompanied by Dalpinder. They are looking for the best spot to set up for the festival.

The men chat while Ebony sees the perfect place.

Mel is so happy after her divorce and is enjoying life as a free woman who can go out without a bodyguard keeping an eye on her. Is that Kimiko with Mel’s brother William? All three are wearing tee shirts from MichMinis on Etsy. Kimiko leaves them for a moment to say hello to Katie and Ollie who are enjoying tropical drinks from OneSixthSense (OSS) on Etsy. We hope everyone has a great time at the festival!

The West Enders Celebrate the Jubilee, Part 3

Before I start, let me say that this post isn’t quite what I had planned. I am back in hospital and didn’t finish all the photos I wanted to take. But let’s take a quick look at the Panenkas’ bank holiday celebrations.

Penny and Candi enjoy the beautiful weather.
Duško mans the grill.
We’re enjoying the fruits – or meats – of his labour.
Claire and Mitzi enjoy the pool.

I hope I’ll be home again soon!

The West Enders Celebrate the Jubilee, Part 2

Tatiana heads off to work at the Jubilee celebration at the renamed West End Manor Resort. After Melanie divorced Bigly, she became owner under the terms of their prenuptial agreement. Of course, he definitely didn’t intend for her to be living in Bigly Manor at the time, but since he was in jail awaiting trial for attempted murder and offences under the Terrorism Act, he didn’t have much choice. He’s now serving life in prison and everyone is glad to see the last of him.

As evening approaches, some of the West Enders head into the village square for a street party. Of course, they want to pose and show off their fashion choices.

The West Enders Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Part 1

Tomorrow begins four days of celebration and of course the West Enders are ready for a party! Let’s begin with the iconic British fashion doll, Sindy.

Rhiannon is channeling a retro look for the occasion.
Sindy has gone for sophisticated elegance while still sporting a Jubilee Union Jack theme.
Kalani isn’t fussed about getting dressed up but she has snagged a logo tee shirt.
Susie is the only West Ender who is Jubilee ready in her original outfit with its colours reminiscent of the Union Jack.

Kalani and Susie show off alternative casual Jubilee styles.
The lasses together. Stay tuned for more Jubilee fashions and celebrations!

The West Enders in May, Part 3: #pynkmondays

I have an Instagram account that I don’t visit very often. Lately, however, I have been participating in a fun weekly event called #pynkmondays, which is simply sharing photos of dolls with a pink theme. Here’s some pictures I took this week. I didn’t post all of them to Instagram but thought I’d share them here.

Here’s Rosalie whose pink hair makes her a perfect model.

Another pink inspired outfit!
Niko has subtle pink highlights in her hair.
Lela and Ebony epitomise pink from their lipstick to their clothes.
Lela is a Mizi doll.
Ebony has a fashionista head on a Malaville doll’s body.
Cocktails for two.
Cheers!
Happy Monday from the West Enders!
